Privacy

Your information, explained clearly

HunterH Music collects only what is needed to sell catalog downloads, run optional email-based accounts, respond to custom work inquiries, and keep the site running well. This page describes what is collected, why, and how checkout works — including when you leave this site to pay with Stripe.

How checkout works

Payments are not entered on hunterh-music.com. You are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout, then brought back here when payment finishes or is cancelled.

  1. Cart on this site

You add songs on hunterh-music.com. Your cart is stored in your browser (local storage) until you check out or clear it. (Note: Your cart is separate from your account — signing in does not sync your cart across devices.)

  2. Checkout session created

When you pay, this site sends your cart to our server, validates items and prices, and creates a Stripe Checkout Session. No card details pass through our server.

  3. Pay on Stripe

Your browser is redirected to Stripe’s secure checkout page (checkout.stripe.com). You enter email and payment details there — not on hunterh-music.com.

  4. Return & delivery

After payment, Stripe sends you back to our success or cancel page. A server webhook fulfills the order and emails download links from orders@hunterh-music.com.

Your order reference on the success page is a Stripe Checkout Session ID (for example, cs_...). Keep that ID if you need help with an order. See also licensing terms for how purchased music may be used.

Accounts and request storage

Accounts use email-based magic-link sign-in. If you sign in, this site stores the minimum account information needed to identify your account, keep you signed in, show your order/request history, and protect account-only or admin-only pages.

Request submissions are stored with the details you provide so I can fully understand the request and deliver a satisfactory product. That can include your name, email, request type, timeline, genres, budget, message, and request status. If a request email matches an account, the request may be shown in that account's request history. You can edit or withdraw a request while it is not started, or for 24 hours after it moves to in progress (then use email for further changes).

Custom request workflows send transactional email through SendGrid: a confirmation when your request is received, status updates when work progresses (except delivery, which is sent separately), and notices when you edit or withdraw a request from your account (those updates are also sent to the requests inbox for support).

A small internal admin area supports store operations (order lookups, download resends, and custom request status updates). Access is limited to an email allowlist — not public navigation. The admin team is one person (Hunter Herrlinger); two allowlisted email addresses can sign in for that access. Those sign-ins can view the order and request records needed to provide support and deliver custom work.

Some features rely on trusted providers. Their own privacy policies apply when you use their services (especially Stripe during checkout).

  • ComplaintLodge a complaint with your local EU/EEA data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights were violated.

To exercise these rights, email support@hunterh-music.com with enough detail to identify your order or request (for example, your order reference cs_...). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. EU/EEA visitors also have the additional information in the section below, including the right to contact a supervisory authority.

If you are signed in, you can review orders and requests in your account. For catalog order help (missing emails, expired links), you can also use the Support resend form.

Other GDPR notes

  • No automated decisions — we do not use profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Children — this site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
  • Cookies and storage — the shopping cart uses browser local storage. Optional account sign-in uses a session cookie while you are logged in. We do not use advertising cookies. Analytics are provided by Vercel as described above.
  • Response time — we aim to respond to GDPR requests within one month where applicable.

Retention, cookies, and your choices

  • Cart data stays in your browser (local storage) until you clear site data, remove items, or complete checkout. It is separate from your account — signing in does not sync your cart across devices.
  • Ordersare recorded by Stripe and summarized in this site's database (including resend history). If you sign in with the same email used at checkout, past orders may appear in My Orders. Download links in email expire after the period stated on the licensing page; contact support@hunterh-music.com, use your account resend option, or the Support resend form if you need help after that.
  • Accounts use a short-lived sign-in session cookie while you are logged in. Magic-link tokens expire after use or when they time out.
  • Request form messages are emailed to requests@hunterh-music.com and stored in the site database so they can be managed and, when the email matches your account, shown in My Requests. Status-change emails (for example, received, in progress, paid, completed, or withdrawn) go to the address on the request. Do not send passwords or sensitive financial data through the form.
  • Analytics on this site are aggregate and do not require you to log in. You can use browser privacy tools or extensions to limit tracking if you prefer.
